Evangel School - Dean Training Online

The Evangel Dean School of Urban Church Planting provides excellent equipping for World Impact partners working among the urban poor through the commissioning of Deans who will be certified to host Evangel Schools of Urban Church Planting in their own ministry contexts online through World Impact U, or in person, using Ripe for Harvest: A Guidebook for Planting Healthy Churches in the City.

Evangel School of Urban Church Planting

Evangel exists to help your movement, ministry network, denomination or church develop a sound, reproducible strategy to plant healthy churches in communities of poverty.

Evangel School of Urban Church Planting – Dean School

This training equips leaders from various partner ministries to become Certified Evangel Deans who train church plant teams to establish new churches in their context by offering Evangel Schools of Urban Church Planting.

• A turn-key solution for offering church plant training for your church plant teams
• The ability to contextualize church plant training for your teams
• An Evangel Dean Coach who will walk with your Certified Deans for one year after the school as they move toward hosting their first Evangel School of Urban Church Planting.
• Your ministry will be part of the Evangel Network – A fellowship of like-minded people who are engaged in reaching their city with the gospel through planting new churches.
• Your ministry will become an Approved World Impact partner with the ability to host other World Impact programs and access additional resources through World Impact U.

Summary:

• Dean Candidates receive an Evangel Dean Coach to guide them through the Dean School
• Dean Candidates complete all sessions of the Dean School via World Impact U (est. 35-40 hours)
• Dean Candidates complete Coaching Sessions with Evangel Dean Coaches (via Zoom) (est. 12 hours)
• Dean Candidates complete a Dean Certification form toward hosting an Evangel School.
• Dean Candidates are Commissioned to facilitate Evangel Schools of Urban Church Planting
• Evangel Dean Coaches walk with Evangel Deans for one year after the school as they plan to offer their first Evangel school

Dean School Schedule and Process

1. Dean Candidates register via Eventbrite

Event Cost:

• $65 per Domestic Dean Candidate
• $45 per International Dean Candidate

After Registration Dean Candidates who are not already World Impact Partners will be sent instructions how to create a partner profile at World Impact U.

2. Dean Application (Orientation) via World Impact U (est. 3-6 hours to complete)

(Dean candidates complete online activities individually*)

• Deans work through the Dean School application at their own pace via World Impact U
• Watch videos, complete assigned readings, take quizzes, submit assignments, etc.
• Evangel Dean Coaches (EDCs) will check in with Dean Candidates to check progress
• The application process includes an interview with an Evangel Dean Coach

3. Dean School Work via World Impact U (est. 35-40 hours to complete) (Dean candidates complete online activities individually*)

• Deans will work through all Sessions of the Dean School online via world Impact U
• Watch videos, complete assigned readings, take quizzes, submit assignments, etc.
• Evangel Dean Coaches (EDCs) will check in with Dean Candidates to check progress

*Dean Candidates will complete all online activities during the application process and Dean School through World Impact U individually. However, as a Dean will always need a co-Dean in order to host and Evangel School, each Dean Candidate will be parried with another Dean Candidate to work through the coaching sessions of the Dean School together as a Team to prepare to host their first Evangel School. It is best practice that each Dean Candidate attend coaching sessions together and work as a Team. If an individual registers and attends the Dean School they will be parried with another Dean Candidate forming a team to work through all Team Exercises, Assignments, and Certification Forms.

4. Coaching Sessions with EDCs (three 4-hour sessions)*

(Dean Teams meet with their EDCs to complete team exercises & assignments)

• Coaches review material and lead discussions covering the content
• Dean Teams complete Team Exercises and Assignments
• Dean Teams work on their Strategic Plan and Team Calendars during each Coaching Session

*EDCs will establish coaching sessions with international Dean Teams because of time zone differences.

5. Complete Certification Form

• Dean Teams will complete a Dean Certification Form with their Evangel Dean Coach
• The Nation Director of Church Planting will review & approve the Certification Form

6. Commissioning

• Deans will receive a Certificate of Authorization
• Deans will be Commissioned to host Evangel Schools in their contexts
